What is the Declaration of Conformity?
With the declaration under Annex V, the manufacturer declares, on its sole responsibility, that the product meets the essential requirements of the CRA (Annex I). It is a precondition for CE marking and must be presented to market surveillance on request.
What must it contain?
Unambiguous product identification (including version), name and address of the manufacturer, the reference to Regulation (EU) 2024/2847, the conformity assessment procedure applied, referenced standards or technical specifications, plus place, date and the signature of an authorised person.
The most common mistake
A declaration "for the product" instead of for the specific release: firmware 2.4 and 3.1 can contain different components and vulnerabilities. That is why KONFORMA generates the declaration per release from live data, with a draft watermark until every obligation is met.
